Description of open positions:
Post-doc position at Optical Microscopy Laboratory
The candidate should have at least basic knowledge in colloidal physics/chemistry. Additionally basic experience in preparation and treatment of colloidal suspensions and nano-materials is required.
The candidate should have an experience in operation of confocal laser microscopes and techniques based on these instruments such as FRET, FLIM, FRAP or FCS.
The candidate will be also welcome to have some theoretical and experimental background in nanoscience and nanotechnology including photovoltaics and energy transfer in nano-systems. An experience in the field of image analysis and computation methods will be also an advantage.
Post-doc position at UHV Laboratory
We offer a post-doctoral position for researcher with a strong interest in surface science and ultra- high vacuum techniques. The position involves working with ultra-high vacuum multiprobe surface science system containing variable temperature scanning probe microscopy (STM/S, AFM, QPlus), photoelectron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (XPS, UPS, AES) and a number of in-situ sample preparation techniques.
Required experience in:
ultra-high vacuum systems maintenance (obtaining and sustaining the UHV)
SPM methods, with the emphasis on STM/S (desirably with lock-in amplifier)
ESCA methods (X-ray and UV source operation, spectra acquisition and analysis)
sample preparation under UHV conditions (sputter cleaning, deposition, thermal treatment etc.)
The post-doc will participate in the research of metallic nanoparticles, quantum dots, carbon nanotubes and hybrid nanostructures, functionalized and bio-functionalized for biomedical applications.
Post-doc at Nanochemistry Laboratory
Candidates should have broad interests in general chemistry, biochemistry and nanotechnology, must be motivated and have a strong background in both inorganic and organic chemistry. An experience in chemical synthesis as well as isolation, purification, identification and physicochemical characterization of products obtained are required. The successful applicant will use chemical and physicochemical techniques to prepare nanoobjects (superparamagnetic metal oxide nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, quantum dots, dendrimers) and functionalize them for biomedical applications with use of chemical modification methods.
Post-doc at NMR, MRI Laboratory
The work of candidate will focus on spectroscopic studies of various nanoscopic complexes, multimodal drug-delivery systems, and biological macromolecules. Moreover, our current research emphasizes in vivo studies concerning multifunctional nanoparticles combining both diagnostic and therapeutic effect.
The candidate will be working on MRI instrumentation consists of a horizontal magnet 9.4 T with 310 mm bore diameter and vertical wide-bore 14 T system with microimaging capability. These facilities enables one to perform in vivo experiments with mice, rats and rabbits.
The candidate will be also engaged in high resolution NMR spectroscopic studies (800 MHz NMR spectrometer) and solid state experiments.
Post-doc at Nanofabrication Laboratory
The candidate will be working in nanofabrication laboratory (especially cleanroom), which is dedicated to design, fabrication and characterization of nanostructures and nanomaterials in micro and nanoscale. The candidate should have experience in the nanotechnology and nanoscience field with particular emphasis on practical skills in using techniques such as: atomic layer deposition, reactive ion etching, photolithography, ultra high vacuum evaporation and chemical vapour deposition. The main areas of fabrication in our cleanroom laboratory will focus on thin film semiconductor nanostructures and nanomaterials.
